Here is a list of six artists that have influenced and is influencing the Liberian Music Industry.

We appreciate all Musicians who are doing their very best to boost this growing industry. # 1 on the list is Johnathan Koffa

Takun J

Takun J Born May 14, 1981, Is a musician and activist. Regarded as the originator of Hip-co, a politically-charged music genre sung in vernacular Liberian English. The Liberian Gender Ministry designated him once as an anti-rape ambassador.

Takun uses music to address socio-political issues in Liberia and preaches Peace. He is best known for his hit singles “Who Make You Cry”, “Policeman”, “Gbagba Is Corruption” and “A Song for Hawa”, as well as for his rap verse on the collaborative single “Pot Not Boiling” (Remix). Takun J released his debut studio album The Time in 2007.

His second studio album My Way was released in December 2012 and was sold out massively. He appeared in a couple of documentaries like “Liberia Rap eyes big time” on AFP News Agency, Monseo TV and a lot more. Till this date, he is partly involved in Music and political affairs.

# 2 on the list is Samuel Sonnyboy Tubman

Samuel Sonnyboy Tubman born March 3, better known by his stage name scientific, Is a high cord and excellent rapper who speaks wisdom when he touches the mic. And this has taken places. He has inspired a lot of rappers that Liberia can count on. His label is Wonda World Entertainment and he is currently being managed by JMK Publicist .

This young Legend has made a name for himself over the years in exile and has collaborated with big names in Ghana like EL, Sarkodie, Jayso and a lot more top international rappers. Last year he held a competition back home nurturing young rappers. He has won many awards some of which include the 2014 and 2016 Best Hip Hop Artist at the Liberian Music Awards.

# 3 on the List is Daniel George

 Born September 1, 1984, stage name DenG, is a Liberian singer and songwriter from Bong County Liberia, his style of music include Colloquia/Afro-pop. He Speaks about Love, his Country, and Life through his music. He is a descendant of the Kpelle tribe. DenG began singing in the church choir at an earlier age.

When he realized that music was his thing he moved on to doing RnB. But when he got back home it was more difficult for people to blend into his kind of music. So he had to do it his people way Colloquoi.

He made history by becoming the first Liberian artist to receive a nomination in the Listener’s Choice category at the 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards. Later the same year, DenG released three new singles with one becoming a hit locally and internationally. ‘They Vex’

His last record label was African Entertainment Music Group (AEMG) with whom he released this record “Make Dem Talk.

His hit singles are “They Vex” and “Kema” which scored him a nomination at the African Entertainment Award in the USA Winning song of the year “They Vex” and artist of the year.

DenG also won the artist of the year and song of the year with the single “Grateful” at Tunesliberia Music Award in 2018. He recorded the official inauguration song for president George Weah. Deng is actively recording and is still influencing others.

#4 on the list is Christoph the change

Liberian rapper and songwriter whose real name is Christoph Nyenga. Born April 3, 1993, in Monrovia. After a long preparation, the hitmaker entered the mainstream music with the single “Take A Break”, he did songs like “Papa God”, “Heaven And Hell” and “ Gbanna Man” which place him in the spotlight in the Liberian Entertainment business.

Christoph the change has been making hits after hits since he came out with the single “Papa God”. He has an endorsement deal BYC football club and owns the MEMG record label. Many young Liberian see him as a role model. His recent album title “Bonnie Dust” is out on all platforms worldwide.

# 5 on our list is Cralorboi CIC

Commander in chief real name Maurice Terziq Gayflor is a Liberian Afro-pop artist. He was born on July 23, 1994. C.I.C became inspired by Scientific (Liberian Hip-Hop Artist) to become an artist himself. With much love for his culture and local language, C.I.C decided to brand a new style call Kolo-Pop, an afro-pop style but strictly colloquia. C.I.C has been an artist of the SOG RECORDS Empire an Independent Record in Liberia since 2012.

CIC is currently the brand ambassador for Lonestar cell MTN 2018, 2019. He has received a couple of awards to name a few…

He is one of the biggest artist set to becoming one of the icons of Liberian music. His debut album 19 Ninety 4 “The Throne” is out everywhere.

# 6 on our list is Bucky Raw Karwoudou Cole

Mr. Cole born April 30th known by his stage name Bucky Raw is a Liberian rapper and a songwriter. Since Raw revolutionize Trap- co through the Liberian Entertainment Awards LEA Cypher. It has been a new beginning for this active and lyrical rapper. This fellow who has faced a lot of challenges in recent time is not backing off. Raw has released two mixtapes: 2017’s Country Soda and 2018’s Cs2.

Awards accumulated are, Tunes Liberia Music Awards [ Fan Army Of The Year, Album/Mixtape Compilation, Trap-co Artist of the Year2018] Liberia Music Awards [ Album of the Year, MTN People’s Choice2018 Liberian Entertainment Awards [Best Hip-co Artist 2017]. His fan base is increasing day by day and he is one of the biggest names in the industry now.
